🔒 Your Privacy Matters: LastTime is designed with privacy as a core principle. We only collect the minimum data needed to provide account and cloud backup features. You can use the app without an account — all features work locally.
1. Overview
LastTime ("we", "our", or "the app") is a recurring task tracking application that helps you never forget important tasks. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information.
2. Data Collection
A. Without an Account (Guest Mode)
If you choose to use LastTime without signing in, we collect nothing. All your data stays on your device.

B. With an Account (Signed In)
If you choose to create an account for cloud backup, we collect the following:

💡 Important: We do NOT collect your name, phone number, location, contacts, photos, or any other personal data beyond what is listed above.
3. Authentication Methods
LastTime offers three ways to sign in:
Apple Sign In
- Uses Apple's secure authentication
- You can choose "Hide My Email" to keep your real email private
- We only receive the email address and a unique identifier from Apple
Google Sign In
- Uses Google's OAuth 2.0 authentication
- We only receive your email address and a unique identifier from Google
Email & Password
- Your password is securely handled by Firebase Authentication
- We never store or have access to your plain-text password
- Password reset is available via email
4. How Your Data is Stored
Local Storage (All Users)
- 📱 Task data is always stored locally on your device using AsyncStorage
- 🔒 Protected by device-level encryption (iOS/Android standard)
Cloud Storage (Signed-In Users Only)
- ☁️ Task data is additionally synced to Google Firebase Firestore
- 🌍 Data is stored in Firebase servers (europe-west1 region)
- 🔐 Secured by Firebase security rules — only you can access your data
- 🔄 Syncing allows you to recover your data when switching devices or reinstalling the app
⚠️ Guest Users: If you use the app without signing in and uninstall it, all your data will be permanently lost. We cannot recover it. Sign in to enable cloud backup.
5. Data Sharing
We do NOT share, sell, or transfer your personal data to any third parties. Your data is used solely to provide the app's functionality.
6. Permissions
LastTime only requests permissions that are essential for core functionality:
Notifications
- Why: To remind you about upcoming tasks
- How: Scheduled locally on your device
- Data: No notification data is sent to external servers
You can disable notifications at any time in your device settings.
7. Third-Party Services
Firebase Authentication (Google)

Expo (React Native Framework)
- Purpose: App development framework
- Data: No personal data is shared with Expo
- Privacy Policy: expo.dev/privacy
Apple Push Notification Service (iOS)
- Purpose: Deliver notifications on iOS devices
- Data: Device token only (no personal data)

Google Cloud Messaging (Android)
- Purpose: Deliver notifications on Android devices
- Data: Device token only (no personal data)
- Privacy Policy: policies.google.com/privacy
8. Your Rights
You have complete control over your data:
- ✅ Access: All your data is visible in the app
- ✅ Edit: You can edit any task at any time
- ✅ Delete: You can delete individual tasks or all data
- ✅ Sign Out: You can sign out at any time — local data remains on your device
- ✅ Account Deletion: You can delete your account and all associated data directly from the app (Settings → Delete My Account)
9. Data Retention
- Local data: Retained until you delete it or uninstall the app
- Cloud data: Retained as long as your account exists
- Account deletion: You can delete your account directly from the app. All associated data is permanently deleted immediately.
10. Children's Privacy
LastTime does not knowingly collect any information from children under 13 years of age. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, please contact us and we will promptly delete the account.
11. Data Security
- 🔒 Local data is stored using device-level encryption
- 🔐 Cloud data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest by Firebase
- 🛡️ Authentication uses industry-standard OAuth 2.0 and secure token handling
- ✅ Passwords are never stored in plain text
12. International Users
LastTime is available worldwide. If you sign in with an account, your data may be processed in Firebase servers located in the European Union (europe-west1). By using the cloud backup feature, you consent to this data transfer.
13. GDPR Compliance (EU Users)
If you are located in the European Union, you have additional rights under the General Data Protection Regulation:
- Right to access your personal data
- Right to rectification of inaccurate data
- Right to erasure ("right to be forgotten")
- Right to data portability
- Right to withdraw consent at any time

14. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by:
- Updating the "Last Updated" date
- Posting the new policy on this page
- Notifying users in the app (for significant changes)
